Before you buy
What does it cost?+
Pricing follows tonnage. Homes run on Sense at $29 per unit per month. Equipment from 5 to 10 tons, large homes and small commercial, runs on Pulse at $39. Commercial equipment of 10 tons and up runs on Managed, from $79 per unit per month, scaling with tonnage (a 20-ton rooftop is $237). Every plan includes day-one phone control. Self-install is free; a pro residential install is $129/unit; commercial sensor-tier installs are quoted with your plan. In the 20% documented-fault scenario, a typical 5-ton home system saves more than twice the subscription; very small units (PTACs, mini-split heads) may not clear on energy alone, and we say so. How is this different from a smart thermostat?+
You still get the smart-thermostat part: phone control, Apple Home, Siri, automations. But a thermostat only knows the room temperature and the schedule; it can't see inside the machine. AirPulse reads the equipment itself against that unit's own learned baseline. A thermostat notices when the room can't hold setpoint, the end of the story. AirPulse catches the beginning.
Do I need a building automation system?+
No. Most HVAC analytics platforms depend on a building automation system, and many buildings under 100,000 square feet don't have one. AirPulse brings per-unit intelligence to exactly those buildings, rooftop units, mini-splits, VRF, PTACs, with no BAS, no points list, no integration project.
Can I cancel?+
Yes. Plans are month to month per unit, and your data exports in full whenever you want it. We keep customers by catching problems and documenting savings every quarter, not with a contract lock.
How it works
Does it control my equipment?+
Yes. From day one you set temperature and setpoint from your phone, in Apple Home or your AirPulse login. Underneath that comfort layer, AirPulse learns each unit's normal, watches continuously, and tells you when something starts costing more than it should. Control your comfort; let the intelligence watch the machine.
How long does it take to learn my equipment?+
The initial baseline targets about 30 days for the current season, and it keeps refining as more seasonal data arrives. You'll see live telemetry from day one; degradation alerts begin once the baseline is solid.
What equipment does it work with?+
Daikin mini-split and VRF systems get full bus-level telemetry today. Conventional rooftop units, PTACs, and fan coils use the sensor tier, the 24V thermostat circuit, temperature probes, and current clamps. More communicating brands are on the roadmap. Send us your equipment list and we'll tell you exactly what each unit gets.
Data & control
Who sees my data?+
You, the people you authorize, and your servicing contractor if you route alerts there. The building's data belongs to the building, full export any time, monthly archives by default, ownership written into the contract. We don't sell it or share it.
What about LL97?+
Continuous per-unit energy behavior, findings, repairs, and measured recovery, all archived, gives your team and your reporting professional the operational records that support LL97 reporting and efficiency planning. Buildings in the 25,000 to 100,000 square foot band, facing LL97 with unitary equipment and no BAS, are precisely who AirPulse was built for. AirPulse does not file your report or sell offsets. See the LL97 breakdown →
Does AirPulse sell carbon offsets?+
No. AirPulse doesn't sell or issue carbon offsets. LL97 compliance is mostly about real on-site reduction, with only a narrow, capped offset exception. We produce the measurement data an offset certification (Verra, Gold Standard, CAR) or an LL97 filing would rely on; that certification is a separate workflow we don't run.
Install & service
Who installs it?+
You can self-install a mini-split or standard-thermostat unit in 15 to 30 minutes, or an AirPulse Pro partner installs it for you. Commercial sensor-tier work is pro-only. Find an AirPulse Pro →
What if my WiFi is bad?+
Tell us up front and we'll plan around it. Rooftops, basements, and hotel networks are a known reality; a network survey is part of every install.
Will this replace my maintenance contract?+
No, it makes your maintenance contract work. AirPulse covers the days between visits and tells your provider exactly where to look when they arrive. On Managed, monitoring and maintenance come as one agreement.
AirPulse learns what each unit should be doing right now and tells you when it isn't.
